Lasagna, recipe, ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, herbs, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, layer, bake
Ingredients:
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons dried herbs (such as basil, oregano, or Italian seasoning)
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
- Stir in the tomato sauce and dried herbs. Simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place three lasagna noodles on top, followed by a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Repeat this layering process until all the ingredients are used, ending with a layer of meat sauce and a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Cut into slices and serve hot.
